So I'm finally watching Halloween 2018. If anyone who's watched remembers the gas station bathroom scene, I'm wondering if you'll feel as annoyed as I was. When Michael was trying to get into each stall, and decided to showcase the teeth he got from the gas station clerk in an attempt to scare the reporter , it's just so un-Michael like to do so. He's never been one to openly taunt his victims so it really took me out of the setting for a few moments. He's got like 3 moves on him, slow walking, head tilting, and stabbing. I'm probably overreacting, but it really grinded my gears lol

This is still one of the most hilarious critic reviews I’ve seen.

@JONOFTHEJONS It’s spy kids! What do they want? It’s a great movie to watch with family! As it doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

I make it a habit of rewatching them at least every month, even if it's in the background I'm constantly in awe of the masterful filmmaking and acting. The extended editions are definitely bloated at times and the theatrical cuts feel 90% definitive, but it's mainly tacked on DLC à la Persona 5 Royal. More content, won't change your mind if you hate it but if you loved it before you'll love it a little more.

I'm not even a fan of DVD or Blu-ray but if I had to get one it'd be LOTR. The DVD specials and making-of docus are Oscar worthy in of themselves.

Even if "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" isn't perfect, at least the Goombas look just like the ones in the games (with a little extra quality in things like skin and hair). The live-action movie didn't even bother to try!

@HenryKibble I dunno, the 90s Mario movie seems to engage me more as it’s such an ambitious mess I have to think about it whilst the recent Mario movie I was just bored with the onslaught of references.

I’m finding this current zeitgeist of every franchise needs to be more like the franchise is leading to stale movies and more like a parody of themselves, even the recent good franchise films just feel bloated and unfinished but folk seem happy that they just get to see the references. Being true to the source material and being accurate are two different things and some of the legit greatest movies of all time like The Shining, Blade Runner, Ghost In The Shell, Handmaiden, Jaws etc took big risks in changing how accurate it is to the source material but still kept itself true to the source material.

@jump …I definitely didn’t buy the movie on Blu-Ray on launch day. Nope. Definitely skipped it. 👀

I’ve decided I want to try the everyday a horror film October challenge. So I’ve come up with my list of 30 as below which are films I’ve seen before and under two hours long since I will be watching them during my morning work outs plus I want to make sure it’s varied enough and avoids painfully obvious ones like Scream or Halloween. I’m still working on the list and may switch the subtitled films as it’s pain to lift and read at the same time.

However I want the last one on the 31st to be big film so I can either go to an absolute favourite with Shaun Of The Dead, Silence Of The Lambs, Evil Dead 2 leading the options or I can watch a stone cold classic I’ve never seen before which I’m thinking about Jacob’s Ladder, The Exorcist, Poisson for.

@jump It Follows is severely underrated. One of the best films that does a good job of recreating that 80s horror movie feel. Oculus was a good one too, and smile was great up until the very end.

I do something similar but I don't have a set list, I simply just watch a horror movie every night and it usually starts late September for me.

@NintendoByNature Yeah It Follows is pretty great, it works so well beyond its clever premise by knowing what it wants to be and goes beyond the surface level.

Smile was a decent jump scare movie up until they got a silly CGI monster in the end which is a shame.

I don’t get spare time in my evenings every day otherwise I would have done 31 horror films I’ve not seen before which I can properly focus on so I’m just using this a chance to revisit films I want a second look at. Like Rubber is an incredibly stupid sounding film about a tyre that murders people so I want to see if it’s just a novelty that wears off the second time or a decent flick.

@jump agreed re It Follows and Smile. That monster ruined the entire experience after being fairly tense the entire way through.

I'll have to check rubber out.

To me, the final reveal of the Smile monster was great. I loved the design of it. Minus the unneeded jump scares and goofy scenes with the therapist and the sister, Smile was a tense movie. Also, the monster wasn't CGI.

I don't enjoy suffering alone. However, I don't mind making others suffer alone.
